Näyttelyn teosten lähtökohtana ovat metsä Jurmon saaressa, hakkuuaukea Kaarinassa ja yksittäiset puut Turussa Vartiovuorella ja Lontoossa St.Jamesin puistossa.
Taidemaalarina minua kiehtoo metsässä muotojen runsaus ja värillinen harmonia. Metsäaiheiset teokset ovat nopeita havaintoja ympäristöstä kun taas Hakkuu-teoksessa yksityiskohtien runsaus tekee siitä jopa vaikean katsoa. Yksittäiset puut voi nähdä elämän ja voiman symboleina. Ne ovat yksi perinteisimmistä aiheista maalaustaiteessa.
Ensimmäinen metsäaiheinen näyttelyni oli Vanhan Raatihuoneen galleriassa 2015. Siitä lähtien aihe on kulkenut mukanani taiteellisessa työssä. Se on muokannut maalaustapaani vapaammaksi ja kokeilevammaksi. Pyrin aina tavoittamaan paikan luonteen ja käytän sen saavuttamiseksi erilaisia maalaustyylejä. Työskentely vaihtelee yksityikohtaisesta esittävästä vapaampaan ekspressiiviseen maalaamiseen.
Paintings of Trees
The starting point of the exhibition is the forests in Jurmo island, a felling area in Kaarina, trees in Vartiovuori Turku and in St.James´s park in London.
As a painter I am fascinated by the forest: the richness of the forms and the harmony of colours. The forest paintings are quick perpections of the environment in comparison to the painting of the felling area which is loaded with details that make it even hard to look. Trees can be seen as symbols of life and strength. They are one of the most traditional subject matter in painting.
My first forest themed exhibition was at Vanhan Raatihuoneen Galleria, in Turku in 2015. Since then the theme has followed me in my artistic work. It has modified my working methods towards more free and more experimental expression. My aim is to capture the character of the environment and I use different styles of painting to do so. They differ from detailed figurative to more free expressive way of painting.
